All new extinguishers should be subject to commissioning before being installed and this process should be carried out by a competent person. Upon removal from its packaging, and immediately prior to placing in its designated place, the extinguisher should undergo the sequence of commissioning service actions.
Upon completion of the commissioning procedure the extinguisher should then be installed and positioned in accordance with BS5306-8.
Extinguishers should be available for immediate use at all times and our engineers will install the extinguishers in accordance with the requirements of BS5306-8 and the design specification as follows:
- in conspicuous positions at the correct height on brackets or floor stands
- where they will be readily seen by persons following an escape route
- most suitably, near to room exits, corridors, stairways, lobbies and landings
- in similar positions on each floor, where floors are of similar appearance
